Come see us at the Moonlight Theatre
We will be performing at the Moonlight Theatre in St. Charles IL on November 16th from 7:00-8:30 p.m. Enjoy the nostalgia of a vintage theater with cocktail table seating, a great view from every seat, a cash bar, a raffle ticket to win a literary-themed basket worth over $400, and a stellar performance. Meet and greet with the authors after the performance and grab an autographed book or merch. Tickets are only $15 and available online below or at the box office the night of the event. We hope to see you there!
What is a Spoken Word Poetry Ensemble?
We are Chicago's very own diverse female poetry and spoken work ensemble. We are bestowed with a love of painting and messing with words to create stories. We are in love with the beauty of the language and we are guessing you are as well, if you ended up here. Who are we?
We are lifelong creatives and literary artists
We are proud, smart, strong, and eloquent women
We are believers in and lovers of the beautiful auditory art form of Spoken Word Poetry
We are humans with unique and diverse backgrounds, crossing national boundaries, generations, and social constructs to create one respective and collective performance that shares all our voices and stories equally.
Who are we specifically? That is a different question and we are very different women. Meet us below and learn more about what drives our poetry, dedication to the art, and voices.
Spoken Word Poet Introductions
We are currently three Chicago-based women who began our careers as lifelong poets and graduated to the performance art of Spoken Word Poetry. Collectively, we have five published books between us with more books and art on the horizon. To see some of our written work (books) or performed work (spoken word poetry videos), click on the photos of us below.
What will you experience at one of our performances?
One Story Thread or Theme
We want to tell you a different story, a sad story, a dramatic story, a traumatic story, a loving story, and a crushing story or something like that. All performed in consecutive sets following a basic curated Story Thread, Interesting Idea, or Theme chosen by us or the venue.
Three Very Unique Voices
We will each present a consecutive set of numerous pieces of poetry that will tell our individually created stories, own points of view, and using unique voices. The entire performance time may vary based on the venue needs from 45-minutes to 1 hour in length.
